Petroleum Hydrocarbons
PetroFLAG Analyzer and Reagents
The PetroFLAG system is a field portable method for the determination of total petroleum hydrocarbons (for example fuels, lubricants, oils and greases) in soil samples. The detection range is 15 to 2’000 ppm, respectively 200’000 ppm when using the high range extraction vials.
PetroFLAG is ideal for site surveys, for monitoring the progress of remediation activities, triages during renovations or after incidents in which mineral oils have escaped.
The whole system can be easily transported and carried in the form of a lightweight carrying case and can be set up in minutes. It incorporates a meter with pre-measured easy to use reagents, and quantifies soil TPH in less than ten minutes.
The PetroFLAG Reagents do not contain any CFCs or any other chlorinated solvents. After use, they can be disposed of as ordinary laboratory waste.
The Analyzer is unsuitable for soil samples that contain high levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and / or traces of aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTX).
