Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)
L2000 DXT Chloride Analyzer
The L2000 DXT is a portable (field) instrument, which determines the concentration of PCB and chlorinated organic compounds in oil, soil or water matrixes, as well as in wipe samples. The usable measurement range for oils and soils is 3 to 2’000 ppm, 20 ppb to 2’000 ppm for water and 3 to 2’000 μg/100 cm2 for wipe samples.
The L2000 DXT uses an ion specific electrode to quantify the extracted chloride from the sample and converts the chloride concentration to ppb or ppm PCB.
The Analyzer has a touchscreen and can be used in the field or the laboratory (battery and line power) by non-technical personnel. The L2000 DXT eliminates the need to wait days or even weeks for laboratory results. An oil sample requires about 5 minutes to complete while soil tests take about 10 minutes. The instrument can also be used to quantify chlorinated pesticides.
In comparison with the Clor-N-Oil test kit, the L2000 DXT quantifies the PCB concentration in the sample and displays the result in ppm (mg/kg). Analysis results can be stored. If more than 200 samples per year have to be checked for PCB content, the usage of the L2000 DXT Analyzer will be more economic than performing the screenings by Clor-N-Oil.

ETI User's Manual
The L2000 DXT User’s Manual developed by ETI provides step-by-step instructions for the most common uses of the Analyzer.
Pictures, tips and FAQs make the Manual an indispensable companion for the screening of oil, soil, or waters samples.

Clor-N-Oil 20/50/500 ppm
These tests are a proven method for the rapid testing of PCB contamination and were specifically developed for the detection of PCB in mineral-based insulating liquids (e.g. transformer oil).
Clor-N-Oil is fast, accurate, inexpensive and easy-to-use. The test kit is available for testing transformer oil at action levels of 20, 50 and 500 ppm.
It should be noted that the test kits can lead to false positive results if contaminated transformer oil (e.g. from solvents) is being tested. Results only become apparent when verified by gas chromatographic analysis in an accredited laboratory. False-negative results, however, can be excluded if used correctly.
In the event of a positive result, the oil sample must be verified in an accredited laboratory; the tests do not replace GC-MS analysis. The purpose of the test is to minimize the number of oil samples to be analyzed and thus significantly reduce the costs for laboratory analysis.

Clor-N-Soil
The Clor-N-Soil field screening kit detects PCB in soil samples.
Results of greater or less than 50 ppm PCB may be achieved within 10 minutes.
The kit can test any kind of soil including sand, topsoil, sediment and clay. This field test, however, is not suitable for soil samples containing chlorinated solvents.
